Iraq's Constitution Deadline Extended

Iraq's parliament agreed to a seven-day extension for leaders to complete a draft constitution.

The new deadline is August 22.

Key issues: federalism, role of Islam, women's rights, Kurdish autonomy.

The US has the leverage of a peack keeping entity to push toward the constitution draft completion, and prevent deterioration into possible civil war.
